Skin Types
Let’s be honest. There is no official set number of skin types. Some highlight four, while others talk about nine or even eleven. My Skin Tips rely on the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), which defines four skin types: oily, dry, combination, normal, and sensetive.
Oily skin happens when your glands produce too much sebum. In contrast, dry skin suffers from a lack of sebum. Combination skin combines oily and dry areas on the face. Normal skin is neither too dry nor too oily. Sensetive may have characteristics of any skin type with an extra feature – it is reactive.
Our genes determine the characteristics of our skin, and we can’t change it. Does it mean people with shiny T-zone or dry cheeks can forget about glowing skin? No way. We can still manage its condition by incorporating effective topical products, following a healthy diet, and choosing the right cosmetic procedure. My Skin Tips can help you to identify your skin type and build an appropriate beauty regimen to keep your skin as healthy as someone with perfect genes.
